“MAJORS HELPS” HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 2014
May 07, 2014Majors Home Improvement, in partnership with United Way of Santa Rosa County, is seeking your vote to choose one of three families in need of home repairs. Majors launched its 2014 community initiative, “Majors Helps” in March, inviting residents to advocate for others by submitting stories for a family in need. United Way and Majors have narrowed the applications down to three families. These three selections will be posted on Facebook for the community to choose the project from May 1 – May 15. The community can go to United Way SRC’s Facebook Page to place their vote. The winning entry will be chosen by the most Facebook votes. The community can follow the project transformation at Majors Home Improvement’s Facebook Page and right here!
“We are excited to partner with United Way to extend our home improvement expertise to help a family in need. This is a great opportunity to positively impact a local family, which touches our hearts,” states Mike Majors, President of Majors Home Improvement. After reviewing the applications, many homes could benefit from energy efficient window and door replacement, hurricane shutter protection, low maintenance vinyl siding and minor kitchen and bath repairs.
“Advocacy, speaking up for others in need, like one of these families, is a primary goal of our United Way. Each of these families has continued to give back to this community while maintaining home ownership. Together, we have confirmed the need for these energy saving home improvements and now need your vote in choosing which family our community will help,” shares Anja Machado, Director of Marketing and Communications of United Way of Santa RosaCounty.
The contest was open to all of Santa Rosa county, with entries coming from Pace,Milton, Bagdad and Navarre. Majors and United Way carefully selected three very deserving families in need. The families chosen have been impacted by latest hurricanes Ivan and Dennis and also have recently dealt with personal hardships. These families each demonstrate a character trait we would all respect.
